What yarns are used to make my item?
We use only top quality yarns to knit our StarBaby knitwear. We like to use mostly 100% Acrylic yarn in case of a chance of baby having an uncomfortable or allergic reaction to pure wool, and because they also come in a huge variety of vibrant and funky colors! We also very often use a mixed acrylic/polyamide yarn. We do however also use an Acrylic/Cashmere wool mix also and for special items, a 100% virgin Merino wool. We will always indicate the type of yarn we use for each individual item on our listings.
When will my order be finished?
Lead-time from receipt of order to ship date is typically 2-3 weeks but will vary depending on busy or quiet times. Please see current leadtime on our home page where it is updated regularly. Your item is hand knitted so you can appreciate that it may take several hours/days to complete and to ensure it gets the care and attention you expect. There are times when we may have received several orders and yours will have to join the back of the queue. However, we know you are excited about the prospect of putting a cute new pair of handcrafted booties on your little star, or the joy of giving a special gift of a pure white Christening cardigan to a special baby, so please be assured that we will work round the clock to make sure your order is finished as quickly as possible. We will always confirm an estimated ship date on an individual basis, shortly after receiving your order or please feel free to enquire if you have a particular date you would like to meet. However, we very often have pre-knit items in stock and may be able to ship immediately, but again, we will confirm upon receipt of order.
When will I receive my order?
Once your order has been completed, estimated delivery time via standard post with the Irish Postal Service, AnPost, is as follows:
- Estimated delivery time to Rep. Of Ireland is Overnight to one working day.
- Estimated delivery time to the UK and Europe is 2-3 working days.
- Estimated delivery time to the US is 5-10 working days.
- Estimated delivery time to Rest Of World is 7-14 working days.
How much does Post & Packaging cost?
We offer a very affordable rate from €5-€8 for Post & Packaging on most items and a reduced rate of €2.50-€3.50 additional item cost which covers extra weight/packaging for each additional item. However, for larger special orders which may be bulkier or weightier, there may be extra postage & packaging costs. We will advise on an individual basis regarding shipping costs for these type of special orders.
What if I don’t like my StarBaby item?
You are more than welcome to return your item if you are not pleased with it. Please send a return request email to email@example.com within 7 days of receiving your order if you would like to arrange a return. Please note that all items must be returned to us in their original packaging and saleable condition to be eligible for a refund upon return. All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Apologies but we cannot accept responsibility or return of items which are ruined because of improper care of your delicate, hand knit item. Please ensure to follow the accompanying care instructions for your item.
Can I have my order sent to a friend for a gift?
Yes of course! You can arrange to have your order sent to an alternative address as a gift for a friend or relative if you like. Just send us a mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org with details of the new address or enter details of the new address in the special comments section of your order and we will ensure that it is re-routed. Please ask us to include a special note too if you like, it will be our pleasure.

I’m a Newborn Photographer, can you knit a custom Prop for me?
Yes of course! We welcome custom orders at StarBaby so if you’d like to enquire about a custom prop for your Newborn photographs, please feel free to contact us to discuss. If you'd like to become one of our StarBaby Reps, please contact us to discuss also.
How do I care for my StarBaby Knitwear?
Proper care of hand knit items will help them to last longer. Hand washing may seem like a lot of trouble but they are so cute…wouldn’t you like to keep them that way! Please hand wash your item in very cool water using wool soapflakes or a mild baby shampoo. Do not ring or scrub…please be gentle, it was made especially for you! Pat dry with a towel and gently reshape to its original shape, avoiding pulling or tugging. Leave on a towel to dry. When it is dry, you can use the cotton stuffing that comes with your booties to help keep their shape when not being worn by baby. (All baby booties and shoes have a washable soft felt inside sole lining which helps to hold their shape and also adds extra warmth and comfort for baby)
Is my Information and Payment secure?
We accept all major credit cards via Paypal. PayPal's service enables you to order without revealing your financial details to us. PayPal uses the latest in data encryption and anti-fraud technology to keep your information secure, reducing the risk of online fraud. So even if you don't have a Paypal account you can still order and avail of Paypal's secure benefits, just click on the option 'Don't have a Paypal Account?' and you will be able to input your card details securely there...OR if you prefer, we also house a shop on the International marketplace Etsy.com. Visit our Etsy shop where we accept payment from all major credit cards, debit/bank cards, Etsy gift cards, Paypal, Apple Pay, Android Pay and more via Etsy's secure 'Etsy payments' system.
How do I cancel my order?
We would like to help you in any way we can with your order and would welcome any feedback you can give us to ensure that you have a successful experience when placing your order. It is not possible for us to cancel your order if it has been started because all the necessary yarn and embellishments will have been procured for it at that stage. Please make your request to cancel within 1 day of placing your order and we will advise if a cancellation is feasible. Please send an email to email@example.com. If a cancellation is possible, you will receive a refund immediately.
